In 1985, his last year before death, Joseph Beuys started a slow and mysterious protest against Deutsche Bank, by printing a series of posters and cards together with Klaus Staeck.

They had a threatening tone, but still undetermined, with a metaphoric quality and lots of reticence. Despite extensive research I haven’t found reliable sources as for the context and reasons of the protest.

As a study after Beuys, I printed a deactivated version of the original. If anyone has archive material on the 1985’s Beuys vs Deutsche Bank situation please send it my way.
